I did a search looking for info on a dual gage pillar mount for a Z06. I didn't come up with any thing. I am just looking for a good price on one that will mount a boost and fuel pressure gage on the A pillar. I found one from a forum vender for $80. I was really only looking to spend $40 or so. Can any one help me?
Autometer makes a nice full pillar replacement dual gauge pod for about $55 (Summit part #ATM-12192). That way you don't need to mess up your stock A-pillar.
do they all go over the factory pillar or is there a direct replacement.
I use an Autometer dual gauge pod (#12192) which is a full pillar pod. I don't know if it supposed to be used as a "cover" but I use it as a direct replacment and it works great. BTW, it costs about $55.

So you are saying that your pod included the metal clips so that it would totally "replace" the stock pillar trim? My full autometer piece had to be glued on top of the stock piece...

No, it didn't have the clips. I just pulled the stock A piller out and secured the pod with heavy duty velcro (it was already a pretty tight fit anyway). I secured the little vent grill to the pod with a little black silicone sealer. The pod has been in the car since Feb. and it has been very secure.
I wonder why they dont manufacture a piece that is a direct replacemetn for the factory piece...
Tool Cost. The stock one has a dog house boss on it with garnish clips. which is expensive to make a tool for. GM uses that style because they are more concerned about the installation at the factory and making it a simple and fast as possible. The pillars arrive at the GM plant with the garnish clips already installed from the pillar supplier just push on and install.
