Default TNT nitrous

I just read an article in Chevy HP about TNT's billet ring. I don't know jack about nitrous, but when I mention it at cruises, people roll thier eyes. The article says nitrous is safe when installed acoording to thier instructions, but some guys say it will blow your engine. I find that hard to believe, but it seems a lot of guys spend lots more money on superchargers.

I do have some questions:
Doesn't the TNT kit need window switches, I have a vert, how would I mount the bottle. Are there other kits available that are just as good or better, I'm not looking for great hp, maybe a 75hp shot, thanks in advance, Jim.

Jim,

Yes, you need a window switch, which just lets you spray your nitorus between an RPM Window at Wide Open Throttle.

So at WOT, you have it set from 3,000 ON and 6,000 OFF, it only sprays at 3,000 and turns aff at the higher set parameter.

Yes there are other kits. I reccomend a NX Kit, or if you want to go DRY and only do a 75 shot, go with a NOS 05177 Dry Shot Kit.

I am adding a 100 wet shot to my Vette right now and already run low 11's at 123 MPH on motor. Nitrous is sfae, but you need to have all the safety accessories in place, like a window switch. I have all the accessories.

If you do dry and only do a 75 shot it is super safe, you just need to tune your car possibly by taking out a few degrees of timing.

Dry shot mean, only nitrous is added to your intake and you will use your MAF which reads the air fuel ratios when you hit the nitrous and compoensates by dumping more fuel.

A wet kit has nitrous AND FUEL, so it shoots both of these and is reccomended if your doing 100 Shot or more, many say 100 shot dry is perfect, but many go Wet! A small shot Dry will make things easy, but then later you will want more anyway, so just know that now

If you really want to learn about nitrous, go to LS1tech.com The Corvette Forum isn't the best place for Nitrous information as most do SC's.

Good Luck

Bandit.

Nitrous is safe if used correctly..

But just realize with any performance adder, things can go wrong and break..

If you looking on only spray'n 75-125.. then I'd go with a dry kit..

Full throttle and window switches are a must if you want to remain safe..

If you have any direct questions.. I'm sure you'll be able to find the answers here..
