A BOV valve will extend compressor wheel range and stability. Given you are looking at front mount single you will be close coupled which makes BOV more important.
A BOV will also keep turbo spooled while shifting. It’s been debated but I would go with unit as it is necessary and not cheap insurance in your configuration.
