Default traction issues..need help

I got A 2000 Vette that puts down over 600 rwhp trough an automatic ....I currently run some 17 E/t streets on 16 psi and the car still spins pretty bad ..I drive around on my 315/30/18 DR'S AND THEY DON'T HOOK AT ALL .the car kicks sideways on the second to third shift whenever WOT 95 mph....last time I went to the track the car ran a 11.2 @ 132 mph with a 2.37 60ft I still got stock suspension ....A few people have told me that I need to switch to a 16 inch wheels so Ill have a bigger sidewall.....I'm running a 2800 stall with 3.42 gears and a shift kit...

You ran a 2.37 60ft on your 17" ET Streets? Did you do any burnout at all? You can try dropping the pressure down, I run mine at 13psi (26x11.5x16) and know guys that run them even lower.

16" wheels/tires would help, as you will have a taller sidewall and could also jump to a 28" tire, which would put even more rubber on the road.

Sounds like you have a pretty stout car

you can try less air in your current tires. I wouldn't go any lower than 12psi hot though. but, if you are serious about 1/4 mile numbers, get a ccw drag pack. there is NO substitute.

...and a 28" tire will not work with a lowered car. they rubbed small holes in my inner fender liners when I ran them on my stock height rear.

I don't understand why you have 2.3x 60fts on et streets. it's not like you have a big converter and lots of gear. are you sure it's spinning? I would think it might bog for the first few feet with only a 2800 converter. sometimes a little tirespin makes the car quicker. my car with the 6spd and 4.11's used to pull 1.6x 60fts spinning through the 60ft clocks. I was dumping the clutch at 5k off the 2-step....if it is spinning, maybe it's peg legging. the c5 has a weak posi unit to begin with. it only takes one bad burnout to destroy the posi.

ccw drag packs normally go for $1700-$1800 used on here. sometimes you find a better deal, but that is the average. just swapping to the front runners should net you another 3mph in the 1/4. I used to drive my car all summer on my ccws.
