Got the kit completed and took it to Dallas to LG for a tune. With a conservative tune 516.7 RWHp and 464.4 Torque. I have a stock 2000 Coupe with the exception of a Borla cat back and off road x-pipe. I'm very pleased with the whole setup. I'd post the dyno sheet but I can't seem to get a good picture. If your interested I'll email you the pictures. The boost is right at 8#s with a 3.8 pulley. No belt issues at all. Kit looks great and runs WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Power comes on at about 2500 rpms 360#s torque at 2600 goes thru 400#s at 3300 and maxes out at about 4700. The HP line is 180hp at 2500 rpms and is almost a perfectly straight line up to a max of 516.7hp at 6300 RPM. Ok, mabe I should just round up to 517 it sounds better. Thanks to the guys at A&A for the phone help during the install and the Guys LG for a great tune. YES!!!!!
The Vortech unit just sounds like a moderate whistle at Idle. That sound goes away as you add throttle. As for the BOV you have to get on it hard and let off quick at 8 psi to hear the BOV. Pretty loud when it does activate. About like an air compressor blowing a hose off. The unit is an S-Trim.
Hmmm.....moderate whistle? Is that the V1 or V2 head unit? (The V2 is pretty silent, and the V1 sounds like rocks grinding & a whistle)
I *think* the whistle is coming from the BOV at idle or near 1k rpm rather then the head unit, but I may be mistaken. I have the same kit which uses the V2 S-Trim and the Vortech Race BOV.
I think I have just decided to throw the LS6 cam and valve springs in and get the ARP cam bolts and loctite
I almost did the same, but ended up sticking with my stock cam/springs/valve. Did not loctite either (hopefully it wont bite me in the butt) but for some reason, when I was doing my searches the z06's seemed to have that problem with the cam bolts backing out and not the ls1's. Unsure why.
