Vortech Install Question

Hey guys

I am at the part of pinning the crank and I apparently need a GM J342386 Flywheel Holding Tool to accomplish this. I have to remove the starter as per my instructions and then the tool is used there. I went to a Chev dealer and they will not lend or sell any of there J Tools. Does anyone know if I really need this? Is there another tool that would work?

Do you have an automatic or a 6-speed?

If it is a 6-speed you do not need the tool, When I did mine I just put it in 6th gear and set the parking brake. That worked fine in my case.

fly wheel lock

I had the same problem and had to buy a flywheel lock. It cost me $73 shipped and I needed it only once. If you'd like to buy it from me $73 shipped and it's yours. It's still as shiny as the day it arrived.
