I'd say this thread says ALOT about Tbyrne. A few people offering good recommendations.....one or two noting an issue, and Tbyrne stepping up and making things right for those with the issues.

There are ALOT of vendors to choose from....and most offer similar prices. Things like this, issue resolution and customer service are what sets vendors apart.....and Tbyrne has just shown for all to see that they belong in the select few that are truly above and beyond the rest.

Robert: Your also a vendor also so I'm sure you know how things go at times. The roll bar is made specifically for your car. Wolfe doesn't provide us with an update unless we contact them and we also don't receive notice when the bar ships so we don't know the customer needs an update until they call to ask how things are going. No problem checking on that for you. Just give us a call or send an e-mail over with your name so someone can check on this for you tomorrow. I know that they were running 4-6 weeks out on some things. The holidays didn't have to speed them up. Most manufacturers reopened on Tuesday.

Thanks,
Tom
The good old drop ship issue, can't control what the other guy is doing but you end up taking the blame for it anyhow!

I ordered the Wilwood big brake kit from you (14" front rotors 13" rear rotors cross-drilled slotted zinc washed), the hats, bolt kits and stainless lines. I started pulling the car apart before I realized Wilwood forgot the rear stainless lines. Called your team up and they had Wilwood ship out the missing parts, received them a couple of days later.

Tonight I just received my race rotors 2 front and 2 rear (slotted rotors) and 2 hats, one front and one rear along with the bolt kits for one front and 1 rear. The delievered boxes were 1 - 3 of 3. Guess what? Missing the other set of hats!!! Once again, Wilwood short-shipped the order

I'm beginning to worry about having the rotors seasoned for the Spring Mountain track event in February.

I e-mailed the Tbyrne team again tonight about the order which I know they will get Wilwood to correct.

I just let out a big sigh while reading this. I'm sure you felt the same way when you opened the boxes and I apologize for that. I know how it is to get into an install and realize that something is missing. Look for an answer from us later in the morning when Wilwood opens.

As it ends up the error was on the Tbyrne side in placing the order with Wilwood. Only 1 front hat and 1 rear hat was ordered even though I ordered 2 front rotors and 2 rear rotors. I was only charged for the 2 hats and 2 bolt kits but obviously need all 4.

The solution was to place another order for the missing parts, Tbyrne to pay the shipping (ground). I am disappointed though, I have a track event in Nevada on February 4th and 5th, shipping the car out on the 30th of January. It takes time to assemble the hats and rotors, swap them onto the car and then season the rotors before hitting the track. I'm traveling for business next week and the week after so I'm not sure I'll have the time to receive the missing parts, get them on the car and seasoned before the event. I would have expected Tbyrne to expedite the shipping to get the parts to me asap (ie. this week so I could install this weekend). I think I'm 'SOL' on this one, already paid for the track event, air travel, hotel and car shipping. I really don't want to track my cross drilled slotted rotors and crack them.

So, this time around having spent $5,242.82 with them for brakes, am I happy?

Not even close.

I have never ordered anything from them. I will say I have never heard anything negatiev about them.

One thing that they do on the forum a lot that bugs me is post that they have great pricing on XYZ that is too low to post and you need to call them. It's more of a pet peeve of mine I guess.

I'm sure they have their reasons, whether it be marketing or their prices are lower than the manufacturer will allow them to put in writing. It just bugs me. Take is as constructive criticism.

I apologize for the inconvience and mistake with your order. I spoke to the person that has been working with you. She told me that you didn't say anything about having a track event. We could have seen if there was anything that could have been done to make these move even faster for you. I was given a copy of the e-mail that was sent to you so it could be posted -

"I just took a look into your order and when I quoted you the pricing I put qty of 1 instead of 2 on the hats and the bolts. When they were giving me the part numbers and pricing everything was individual (right rotor, left rotor etc..) So I did not catch it that it was supposed to be qty of 2 on the hats and bolts. I do apologize I should have caught that when I priced the items out for you. At this point we can handle this a couple different ways. If you still want the additional parts it will cost $330.96 and we will pick up the freight cost of them getting sent to you. Or if you would like to return them I would understand.

Please let me know what you would like to do and again I do apologize for the mistake I made I should have caught it before I quote you the amount."

Believe me, that is a pain for us too! There are advertised pricing guidelines that we have to follow. Alot of them are following these now. Some don't allow us to publically post sale pricing, some don't allow us to put it in writing at all and some don't even allow the products to be discounted. Good in some ways because things were getting out of control but not good in others..

Wow, some of you guys are rough on these vendors! Obviously some of you have no clue how hard it is to run a business like this. Once guy buys something, then sees it on sale a few weeks later and wants the difference. Give me a break! I could see maybe if it happened the next day or something, but 2 weeks later! Another guy expected Tbyrne to know he had a track day and booked everything? Your annoyed that they didnt speed up the shipping when you didnt even tell them to? Some of you guys are

I really thought during this process I was fairly clear on the urgency of needing the parts for the track event but I'm not going to go down the path of 'he said she said', doesn't do anyone any good. I was told the remainder of the order should ship on Wednesday (tomorrow), is it too late to expedite the order?

No complaints on how I've been treated and I don't think I've treated anyone poorly either. Mistakes happen, just sucks when they happen to you! Just have had issues with 2 of 2 orders in the last month, neither of which I would say were my fault. I placed order #1 the beginning of December, order number #2 started on the 19th of December, I thought enough time to make the event.

Hopefully the rest of the parts will come in soon enough for everything to work out.

My fall back plan is to use the hats off of the cross-drilled rotors I have on my car now, cut the safety wiring and re-use the bolts. Not desired but an option if I have to go that route.

Will I still order from Tbyrne? YES

How do I rate their company?

I'm a realist, things happen, sometimes good and sometimes not so good! It's how you recover from them that counts.

While I have not ordered anything from TByrne in over 18 months I can say Tom was great to work with in the past as I originally ordered my Vortech kit and first McLeod Twin Street and GHL EXhaust from him. Great customer service. So my point is he has been here for a long while, not sure how long and has a good rep. I would not hesitate to buy from him again.

I ordered a set of GHL 4" Bullets (for a C5) from them on their recent X-mas sale. They were a great price ($130 off retail including shipping) and 8 days later, I received them, shipped direct from GHL (that 8 days includes X-mas weekend.) I have also bought things for my dear, departed 94 Z28 from them, and never had a problem. I give them a big
