How much blown hp& torque can a stock bottom end safely stand? Thanks.

Ok, heres some help. Look down a few threads and youll see a big discussion about the LS6, compression, and boost. If thats not what your looking for, do a search, these threads come up every week. And the search works great now, I use it all the time.

Short answer - 6-8lbs of boost is enough. Anything more and you might want to look into alky injection. 550rwhp seems pretty common with that boost and a few boltons. Going over 600rwhp is pushing it. The fact is, one guy can blow his motor with 450rwhp, and the other guy can do 650rwhp all day and all night with no problem. Why? Because there are tons of factors, and some you can't control. My advice is don't boost it if you can't afford a new motor. If you want to push it, do 600rwhp or more. If you want to stay reasonably safe, do 500-550rwhp. Thats the basic short answer to go by, but remember that there is no good answer when it comes to this. If you boost it, your taking a chance. Get a good tune, thats key.
