I have a 427 C5R with a D1SC auto making over 700RWHP. We want to cool it down and help prevent detonation. We are in the phase of Texas Speed replacing two blown Felpro Head Gaskets with Cometic .051 MLS Gaskets. While we are doing this we want to make a couple of upgrades. We are installing a Snow Meth Kit with Boost Controller and considering a Meziere Electric Water Pump. We have a Be Cool 2 Row 1 inch radiator. What are thoughts on either the Evans high flow pump, Evans NG + coolant or the Meziere and either Dexcool or the green at 50/50. Thoughts on using the Evans product?? Also, will the Meziere keep up at high rpm at the track with the 427 and the D1? So, from experience out there, better electric or mechanical water pump? Evans or regular type coolant? Thanks Bobby and T with Pewter Vette
I have the Evans and the NPG coolant in my convertible. I never noticed a drop in temps (they say you probably won't see a drop) but I also have never had any detonation with the coolant either. Supposedly the big selling point of the coolant is that it smooths out hot spots that would ordinarily cause detonation due to its chemical properties vs. other coolants. I'm not sure how true or untrue it is.

Hey I've got those same gaskets collecting dust in my garage. They are NIB. Let me know if you need a set. I'd be happy to get half what I paid new.
Felpro=Garbage. JMO.
Meziere/Dexcool works fine on the track with mine.
Shift at or below 6,000. 6,200 max. JM Other Opinion which happens to be shared by C6R team as well.
Thanks, guys. We are going with the Meziere polished, Cometic .051, Snow Meth / water injection and probably the green stuff or Dexcool. We are going to also try the Zex Hyperperformance plugs. We have 60 lb injectors. Major fuel blown in. Jason, Texas Speed, is going to work on a low rpm tune to try and stop the fouling due to non burning fuel and carbon when street driving,ect. Any suggestions out there to help the carbon deposits on the plugs please respond. I think we have eliminated using the MSD Blaster Coils or Boost A Spark after Andy at A&A responded. Thanks Andy.
