I think the headgaskets are different! Different part numbers pretty sure. I would say coolant leaking into cylinder loss of compression and oil in cylinders. Thats just my guess.
What would happen if a shop put 6.0L head gaskets instead of the 5.7L gaskets that should be on the car?
Head Gaskets are specified by bore and compressed thickness.
Stock 5.7 LS1 is 3.91" by .054" thickness.
When the gasket is larger than bore you will have a lower compression because of the increased volume from the gasket, about a tenth at most. Bore 4.00 - 4.135"
It is improper to refer to a 6.0L gasket as this does not tell what gasket is used.
As long as they are for an LS1 / LS6 / LS2, leaks are not an issue with the proper torque.
