Default STS Boost Poll .... describe your setup

Curious what has been done so far with the STS Kits for C5's.

Describe your car re: LS1 or LS6, engine mods, type tune used, boost controller (if any), boost level, alky, NOS, RWHP/TQ obtained, tires, and satisfaction with product and its performance.

Even ole Austrian Oak ... in his prime ... couldn't of held that STS back during the dyno run. The TQ would of pulled his arms out at their stumps.

Yeah, something like that Take a look at jason's car take a look at a few of the big buildups like Cajandudes. you know exactly what you are atalking about.

Im currently running stock boost, as soon as i get a methanol kit hooked up, im going to turn it up to maybe 10lbs max, im going to go up slowly. I have the sts Dulastage buti ts not wierd up yet, im going to tune the car with HP tuners first.

i have a c5-r so i plan to go all the way up eventually. however the airbridge dillema and my lack of experience with this kind of power will make this a slow process.

But given the fuel system capabilities i dont think that 900+ at the wheels is small.

stock boost setting, 5.5psi, for now. Running the BBK aluminum AB, holds fine. Honestly, as beefy as it is, I'll be very surprised it that ever lets go.

I've got an alky kit on the way, then i'm headed for 8psi via some sort of BC.

:
The Kit was only released in late Nov. I don't think many cars got the install before Dec. Weather too cold up here for a 1/4 mile run.

Perhaps someone down in Texas, Florida, or over in Calif. has taken the STS to the strip for times.

Its massive power for the Street. Boost is the key to performance. At 5 lbs it is fun ... and easy to handle. But, crank it up to 7-8 lbs ... and you better know how to drive, better have an aftermarket clutch, and run only on warm weather days.

I don't know what power you run now ... but, this Kit is the Ticket to bigtime smiles and spontaneous profanity.

My set up is this:

02 z06, custom tune by Synergy. STS electric manual boost controller. At stock level, only got slightly more than 5 lbs. numbers are 505/48X. at 6.5 lb, we got 530/505. No alky (yet...). Need new clutch. Pics to be posted soon. Also, I am using a custom steel airbridge that SYnergy made. Rick H is a very talented man.

Overall very satisfied with STS. With the custom muffling, my car sounds very nice. It drives like stock until you step on it. In my opinion it offers the best of both worlds. Power when you need it, but stealthy when you don't. Just my 2 cents.

Nice #'s there Lewishou

My 'current' setup is stock '03 LS1 engine, BBK A.B., Marko's new STC clutch, EBC Easy 2 electronic controller (set to 5, 7, & 8 lbs boost), Nitto 555ZR's, 3.90 gears, single W.G, and cats left in.

Dynoed just under 500 on HP/TQ @ 7lbs.

TQ increased to 534 when set to 8lbs (HP only increased by several ticks however, -- think its due to valve flutter @ 5400 revs). Dyno was via MAF .. not S.D.

Didn't remove taillight covers or filters, didn't use fan, didn't put hose in W.G. during dyno. Be sure and do these things when you guys dyno yours.

Performance on Street is AWESOME ... since the dyno tune. If the engine will hold at 8 lbs, there is no need to forge engine and go higher
on boost Gets 25-26 MPG when on cruise control @ 75.
But... just like a stock vette ... until you nail it.

Product support from Rick Squires is tops.

OVERALL: I give it a 9.5 ( on 10 scale).

CONCERNS: Got to watch scavenger oil pump closely on first install ... to make sure you got a good one. Still some problems with the Predator tune. Rick Squires is still working out the bugs with it ... esp. for LS1 engines. Needs boost controller ... to optimize performance. Make sure you upgrade to good rubber, clutch, and A.B. Watch out for value flutter @ 5500 in LS1 engines.

Now.... give me 6 months ... and it will be time to forge, add and X-pipe and some high flow cats, and dial in some 10+ boost.

I have an 03 Z06, completely stock engine and exhuast (stock manifolds, cats, etc...) I am currently running one wastegate with the stock spring pressure (5.5lbs). The car has been a blast, and I have been driving it since October.

I am going to install a 2nd wastegate and a manual boost controller this weekend. I am going to aim for 7lbs of boost, and call it a day (for now!)

Great system for the street!

My engine is pretty much completed. I just need to put the hood back on and I'll be ready to start the break in tonight or tomorrow. I'll start the STS install next Sunday. I've already got some stuff done on it. I ran the oil lines, mounted the oil pump, ran the wiring harness, and intalled the pipes in the rockers.

I've decided that I will probably dump the return oil in the passenger side valve cover. The LS2 driver's side cover has a (for lack of a better word) dick sticking up that would be an easy hookup. The LS1 just has the hole.

As far as numbers, you'll get 'em. Dyno numbers, but more importantly, track numbers.

Oh yea, as far as boost, I'll take what the fuel system will give me. I suspect somwhere around 11 psi. Maybe a little more with the alky kit. We'll just have to see.

Jason,
I would imagine that you will be around 750/750-800/800 to the ground once you get it all sorted out.

Hey Brent, we'll see. Hopefully the fuel system will handle that. There should be no problem at all seeing 695-700. As far as fuel, I've just put in the Racetronix and KB BAP. I have stock injectors in the engine for the break in and will also use those for the ride over to get the tune afte the STS kit. I'll swap in the 60 #ers right before the tune.

J,

I think it will get you to low/mid 700's + meth should help a little.

I have well over $3,500 in my fuel system alone if that makes you feel better.

Hopefully we can get an STS to attend the Norwalk day that we are planning on in the Spring.

We'll have TTI's, FLP and PTK's and some S/C's(I think), from stock displacement to 427 represented. So if any STS guys are in the Ohio,
Mi, or Ill. area, pm me and we'll be sure to contact you once we get some firm details sorted out.
