Nitrous install
I decided to improve my nitrous install tonite. It was bugging me that I could not close the storage panel whenever the bottle was installed. I was using a 3/4' MDF board cut to fit as the mounting plate. So, I decided to change the mounting plate to aluminum.
Here you can see the difference in thickness b/w the two:
I actually used a bandsaw to cut the aluminum and handfiled down all the rough edges.
This is the plate installed before I cut the carpet:
There was not enough clearance with the plate resting above the carpet, so I installed it underneath the carpet and cut it to fit.
I did a hack job of cutting the carpet, but I'll improve it later:

Here is a wider view that shows that the panel is now flush with the surrounding area:
Everything can be improved, but it is now a stealthier install. I was even able to use the offset mounts and did not have to switch to two of the lower height mounts for the bottle. Next up is a custom plexiglass panel for some of the system switches including a plugin for a handheld trigger for those situations that require a little more control of the nitrous.

looks good but what was keeping it from closing before? I actually got mine in there fine. We made a lil wood piece, then carpeted it then bolted the bottle clamps to that. ended up fitting nice in there even w/ the bottle opener.
