I hooked up my BAP today. I wired it to the out side gray wire on the pump plug for incoming and outgoing HOT. I tested the wire by turning the ignition on and checking for 12v for three seconds then it droped back down to 0v. Is this the correct wire? I can't tell if the BAP is doing anything. I ran it a couple of times up in second and the fuel pressure is still dropping from 58 to 49psi or so. But I did leave the traction control on accidentaly. So mabey that was kicking in and killing my power. I will test again later. I have the thing cranked all the way up.
On my '04 C5, it was the first grey wire, on the outside of the bunch of 4 wires(if I remember). I cut it on the supply side of the connector, not the tank side so if the tank ever had to be dropped, the BAP wouldn't have to come out with the tank. If you want to see if the BAP is working, make a small jumper wire and install it in the wiring to take the place of the boost activated switch. The BAP will work anytime the pump is on.
Thanks man. That is what I did to hook it up. I ma still running the boost reference though. The fuel pressure droped from 58psi to about 52 or so under WOT. But it would drop as soon as I hit it and then maintain. I put the restrictor back in this morning and will see if it does the same thing with 5lbs of boost.
Dave. All is well with the BAP. I ran it at 50% unrestricted and saw about 8lbs of boost the other night. Some where north of 550rwhp with only 12* of timing. The fp droped but held at 52psi or so. I ran it restricted to 5lbs today with 10% and saw exactly the same fp drop. So it must be working. All I can say is it was scary at 8lbs. I was trying to watch the boost and fuel gages and wait for the shift light to come on before I let out. The car wanted to dance all over the place and just pulled like a freight train. The clutch wasn't happy at all. I would mash it in second with no shifts and the clutch would pretty much stick to the floor after that. I can't wait to get the boost to 8lbs restricted with the clutch and new tune. I think I will surprise some people at the NAM next time I show up. Low tens at 135+ is the goal. Now 5lbs feels slow. Remember, keep this on the down low.
Brett,
Damn dude sounds sick!!! Down low? Yea right, like your Z is stealthy and you drive so well to begin with... You have me and Wayne trying to figure out we need to do to try and keep up :o Looks like we will have to start looking @ bottles, or more CI... heck we both thought of bigger heads, lower CR and boost like you. Which clutch did you with? You can drive my car anytime to see how my Aussie feels and I am sure Wayne will do the same for the LS7. I am waiting on my 390 to get back, then swap out my OEM 342s, put the DTE brace back on and see what it will do with a CCW drag pack I just got (shipped today thanks Jerry!!!). Yea there was a Supra Sunday @ Nam running 11.0 @ 130 but with a 2.0 60. Hopefully we will all be running in a few more weeks Great Vette brother!!
Dave
Thanks man. I got the Textrailia. It seems to be the best all around. Hell man with a 150 shot you would probably break me off right now. I will see what it traps and then mabey look into some gears later. I just want to get some tuning soft ware for now. Max out the combo on all planes.
Thanks Ken. I still have not shipped out your flag. I have been all into the car lately. But I promise I will do it. Thanks for the great deal and all the extras. I will keep you updated.
