STS Question. Loading a tune
Here's the issue. Had the STS kit installed in my 2000 mn6 a couple of weeks ago. While at STS Rick was loading the tune, the PCM wouldn't accept the tune and it wiped it out. We had to pull the computer from the car and have it "Re flashed" at the dealer. Well... for some stupid reason, they can't reload the 2000 program back on there, and had to put the latest '99 info instead.
So.. back to the shop, computer back in the car, load the tune and go.
Fast forward 1 week. I'm still having trouble driving at low/mid rpm (not in boost) when a let off the gas at all, the fuel completely shuts down, causing lurching, bucking.. whatever you wanna call it. Under boost its ok.. not great but ok. Still getting some backfiring a couple of times during each gear when I run it up to 5500.
Anyone have this problem with a 2000? Or any ideas?
i had the lurching at about 5000 rpm, but that was my only issue, the tune that i got was rich fat safe, but not particularly powerfull, im replacing it with a tune by HP Tuners. id suggest you either have Rick take care of it, he is awesome, the guy gave me his cell number so i could call him during the weekend of my install. he will bend over backwards to help you, i just got an email from him last night actually. best of luck, im sure rick witll straighten it out

I'm sure you are right. I'm going to leave the car with them next week and see what he comes up with.
