Went to the track here in tulsa tonight seems the best time I could get was a 12:50 @ 119 . I had a 97 c5 with 100 less hp run almost a full second faster than my supercharged z is. The stock clutch usually lets go around 3rd and I have to get out of it and get back on it and it will grab.
the car has 522 hp does anyone with a z that has around this hp have a time?
You don't provide enough information to do an analysis. Your mph of 119 would normally equate to an ET in the 11.5 range. However, the clutch slippage that you describe is definitely slowing you down. Quick ETs are largely dependent on 60 foot times. With good traction you have the horsepower to get into the 10s but that will likely require 60 foot times below 1.7.

No point in even running the car with a clutch that won't hold. You are just wasting your time. Get that fixed and then see what happens.
I have no clue what the 60 foot times are for some reason the track here for midnight drags does not hand out time slips. I am running goodyear eagle f1 supercar tires. First spins 2nd catches and the clutch startes to slip.
I am trying to find someone here in tulsa to do the clutch but I am having trouble. I have been told to go to xtreem performance, or corvette specialties by rudi. Rudi has never returned my phone call, I would rather not drive to Ok city. I was looking at my engine today bc I had oil on the top of the right corvette cover, the pcv hose came off and I had alittle bit of oil leaking. Is that normal?
Hang in there........ Corvettes are not the easiest drag cars especially with a stick.... They like to spin tires, wheel hop, and smoke clutches. IRs are not the best drag setup. Couple of suggestions:
1) Get some drag slicks if your really want to make a 10 sec run...this will also put some added stress on your drive train so be careful.
2) Get a GOOD clutch.....Exedy or even the C6 z06
3) Practice your launch.....find the RPM that spins the tires just a little and nail the 60 ft time like other wise repliers have pointed out.
Take your car to a road course.........that is when they really shine!
