Default Supercharged

All right, I need some assistance.

2006, Z51 MN6. I want a forced air induction that allows the following:

1 Stock hood
2 Quiet
3 Not too hard on the engine
4 Known long life, low or 0 maintenance.

Thos of you who have done this to there c6 or c5, your input, mileage on systems, problems and price would be very very helpful indeed.

I am not out for the most horsepower, just a nice clean, well built system that can deliver extra power without tearing the motor up.

Congrats on the decision to go FI. I am not the most qualified person with superchargers (not even close), but I was in your shoes 8 months ago. So may be I can share my interpretation with various posts here.

Stock hood: Can't do it with KB or Maggie.

Quiet: Superchargers all have a whine to a certain extent. Even within one model such as the procharger, the noise can vary.

Not too hard on the engine: Intuition suggest that no matter what, given same driving aggressiveness, the FI is always harder on the engine (call me captain obvious). But you can maximize your engine life with the appropriate supporting mods and tune. I've heard horrid stories about people blowing up engines with every setup (that has been around for a while). Chances are there are many people that just keep it quiet. So no recs for this one.

Long life: Most systems can be trouble free. I am not familiar with problems with Roots type setups, but belt slipping and shredding is an issue with all Centrifugal SC's. Of course that is mainly installation dependent.

In the end, I bit the bullet and bought an STS turbo system, which will be avail for the C6. I am very happy with it. But it has it's pros and cons as well. At least it has the potential to be the only CARB legal turbo system for the vette. Good luck.

I know you titled this supercharged but I would highly suggest finding someone w/ a TTi stage1. It can be as quiet as stock (seriously), and you wouldn't be able to tell you've got it in there driveability wise. Give it a little bit of gas and you'll never say supercharger again.

100% reliable w/ no belt issues. Once you get to this point confirm it'll work on an 06.

My A&A P1SC is noisey and I love it.

Get an A&A Vortec SQ-Trim, it is quiet.

I totally agree because originally i was going the supercharger route also. Bought a used TTi Stage 1 setup from a forum member here. It is awesome. I just can't stop from driving the damn thing It was featured in Corvette Enthusiast June's issue pg 54. King-Pin was the previous owner and now he has the TTi X setup. Here's a thread that deals with twin turbo torque curves that is worth looking at.file:///c:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Owner/My%20Documents/showthread.php.htm
444 rwhp and 499 rwtq at 8 boost

ECS Paxton here, probably the quietest supercharger, drives like stock, have never touched the drive belt. My wife is quite comfortable driving it. She drove it to work today.

ECS, A&A and the Maggie seem to have the best reputations for reliability.
ECS and A&A have easier power upgrade potential. Maggie (Eaton) offers more low-end power, and is used as original equipment by many auto manufacturers.

Go to A&A and have them do a Vortec or Paxton install and tune. You will have no problems with it that way...

Livernois Motorsports is adapting a TTi Stage X kit to a C6. I would imagine that at some point TTi will start shipping C6 kits.

I would absolutely recommend turbo's!
More silent than stock, no maintenance, no belt issue, no whining, invisible if you want to and no stress on engine in off-boost driving. More power pr pound of boost. Easy to adjust boost.
There are several kits for the C6 available i think.

I don't want to recommend any kit simply because i only have experience with my own HP kit.
It is a lovely kit, but VERY(!!!) frustrating and timeconsuming to get a hold of
