okay so I ordered a spec stage 3 clutch. This is what I am expecting to get. Well it came in yesterday and I get a centerforce dual friction clutch. I cant even tell if it is 11 inch of 12 and I do not want to open the box. Is this clutch good for 522 whp? how do they compare to spec?

Should I send it back?
Call Centerforce.. their new clutches are supposed to be good for what you want... the difference versus the SPEC is going to be in city driving.
This is going back a few years, and a different vehicle.
Back in the mid 90's I installed a Centerforce2 pressure plate and dual friction disk on my supercharged Rx7 (second gen). This was a special package because Centerforce only sold the dual friction disk with the centerforce 1 (lower clamping pressure) pressure plate. Mazda Motor Sports (factory race group) was putting the package together in that configuration. It was absolutely the biggest piece of crap I had ever used.
Centerforce advertises the centrifugal weights will increase the clamping pressure with rpm and allow the clutch to recover from slipping. Nope, it wasn't even close.
Granted my car was roots supercharged and put out ~330 hp which is about double stock.
I tossed the centerforce and went to a standard high force pressure plate and never had a clutch problem again.
Yes, thats a stretch to the corvette and a long time has passed, but I'll never purchase one again.
I had a centerforce dual friction in my D1 procharged Buick with a small block and liked everything about it. It had about 450RWHP and held great and was very useable. I liked it so much, I will likely go with same set-up in my 2001 vert with same power level.
I just now got back from having that and my hardend output shaft put in. I havent really gotten on it, But I know its a bit chattery or the start and the pedal is hard. Makes my legg hurt but if it holds it will be worth it.
What symptoms did you guys have of a bad clutch besides it slipping.
My pedal seems to get really hard once the clutch heats up and then it will stick to the floor and make it impossible for me to shift into the next gear.
