Default Quick FI Question

Hi everyone,

I have a quick question. I'm installing my STS kit in phases, and essentially doing everything I can to the car and still keep it operational before I need to jack it up in the garage to install the turbos and plumbing, etc. (Plus, I know how true it is when they say do not change too many things at one time, cause if something does not work, it may not be readily obvious where the problem is)

But anyway, I bought 918 valve springs for my motor, and want to install them and make sure everything is good with them. So while I'm installing them, I would think it would be a good time to put the NGK TR-6 spark plugs in the motor, since I have to remove the plugs to pressurize the cylinders to change the springs. Will it be OK to run the TR-6 plugs for a little while until the whole kit is installed and tuned?

Thanks for you help and God bless.
Chris

I can't see why not. They won't be ideal, but the car should still run fine, albeit not optimally.

should be fine

I dont know what else you can do without getting the car up and apart though, unless you are doing your own tuning you cant do the injectors, i guess you could run some wireing...

Thanks Mark,
That's what I was thinking too. It would kind of be like driving around a FI motor without really ever getting into boost.

Navy,
Yeah, I plan to do the wire harness install, the oil pump mounting (but not hook it up yet) I already did the Fuel pump upgrade and catch can system. I want to also put in the gauges, sensors and gauge wiring before the full install, too.

I ran TR6 plugs while N/A with occasional nitrous use. No noticeable drop in driveability, fuel economy, or fouling. Passed emissions easily. You won't have a problem running them until you get the setu pinstalled and tuned.
