Default procharger kit problems.

A buddy of mind has the procharger twin intercooler kit. He is running 8 1/2 psi and was making 502 whp.

He had his steering rack changed and and put the car on the dyno about a week later. He said the car felt slower.

when the car was re-dyno'ed it made 428 whp. He said it isnt making full boost now till right before redline.

what do you think could cause this? I think its that cheap bypass valve leaking. Your help is appreciated.

If any hose clamps are loose from disassembly when the rack was changed, you'll lose some boost.

A friend of mine has a car doing the same thing, does make peak boost until redline.

I hadn't thought of the bypass valve leaking, it is a Vortech Mondo though. We double checked all the clamps on it and all seemed to be ok. Will triple check it and the bypass valve and see how it does.

Any other things that could cause this??

i mean belt slip, but hes got some kind of bracket and the belt is tight as can be.

the kit came with a little release valve, I dont know what it is called its really rinkidee looking and you can wiggle the inside alittle.

I heard the stock junk always leaks. I just dont want to tell him thats what I think it is then him spend the money and that not be it. I just cant seem to see what else it could be

Try cleaning the air filter to the supercharger intake.

I'm voting for belt slip. When the steering rack was replaced, a little hydraulic fluid in the wrong place might make a pretty good belt lubricant.
