Took another 8 hours to finish it...most time spent trimming all the splash panels. Just my opinion but I think those trimmed pieces should be included or at least some templates. Added alot of uncessary time to the install. Lots of openings for water to get in. Record heat here 98F and high humidity so we are putting off the dyno tune until Friday. Going to put some miles on it first...no boost. Sounds very different with the Bassani X and no cats. Idle and acceleration sound real good but it does have a drone when running in cruise control. Also no noise at all from the oil pump. Cant hear it inside even on high. Oil temps are up about 10-15 degrees but it is hotter here so i dont think thats a big deal.
In summary, I think to make a better kit...get all the right parts in it, double check it and fix the instructions to just say cut the spot welded flanges, lube the pipes, and include the trimmed panels or templates. I know I wasted 8 hours just on that ****. It wasnt complicated...just frustrating trying to do it the wrong way in the instructions.

You comparing the exhaust sounds to What ?
Did you first leave Cats in ... or are you C/W a friends STS with stock exhaust sounds.
Don't worry about needing to break it in. I hammered it from the start.
While you are waiting for cooler weather .... install a good EBC and boost gage. This will enable you to dial in different boost levels during the dyno runs .... an find optimal tune for all desired boost levels.
Also .... for max performance on the street ..... punch in Comp Mode.

Car was completely stock A4
160F thermostat
TR6ix plugs and wires
STS kit with GT32s, STS airbridge and .6 wastegate spring
Bassani x-pipe
Bassani cat delete pipe (no Cats)
Not comparing it to any other STS car...havent heard any. It doesnt sound like a V8 with mufflers...more like a hopped up Buick GN turbo at cruise. I will post vids soon.
I dont want to adjust boost..set it..tune it..forget about it. tuning it for 93 octane at 7-8lbs.
Yeah, I'm a big believer in comprehensive instructions. It would only take the manufacturer a few hours, and would save hundreds of hours of DIY installer time and result in higher satisfaction and better results. Seems like kind of a no-brainer.
i am a big sts fan now my car was done by a profesional. running 6.5 psi of boost. i will never look back. get it finished and you will all day every day you drive it . the kit is awesome wants you get it worked out . get a good safe tune and have lots of shorts for your passengers.
Congrats. Glad you got thru your install issues. How is resonance without the cats. Time to enjoy the fruits of your labor as soon as the tune is done .
