Default Fuel Return

Anyone have idea's or gotcha's on connecting a return fuel line from a set of aftermarket fuel rails to one of the gas tanks. Looking to connect a An-10 Line, so I can add a out of tank pump. Aero 1000.....

Careful... the A1000 is noisy as hell. I wouldn't go with that pump unless you either don't care about noise or just want to race the car at the track.

How are you going to feed the pump? What fuel components do you have already? If you just have rails and maybe some braided stainless I'd contact ECS and get one of their fuel kits, or at least some of the components. You're going to end up spending roughly the same amount in the long run and their kit will be more polished and a cleaner install. Having had fuel tank bulkhead fittings in other cars I can tell you their method of getting fuel out of the tank and into the fuel pump is very clean and much better than a bulkhead fitting.

Search around for a couple of my threads, I just went through the install on their kit and did a couple of customizations I am really liking, including the activation of the secondary pump using a nitrous WOT switch... seems to work well so far and it keeps the car nice and stealthy.

To answer your question in part, you probably only need a #6 return line. And be sure to run the return through the rocker panels, clamped to the frame. You will save yourself a lot of heat that way and keep the fuel and pumps cool.

Unless you know of an advantage to returning to the PS tank, don't.

First, understand how the fuel system works. How and what's needed to transfer fuel between the two tanks. Save some dough and run a -8/-10 hard line to feed the rails and -6 for the return is fine... but, there's also nothing wrong w/ using the existing supply as a return.

The stock line is -6 and we have had good luck with -8. I would recommend doing a reducer to and from the fuel pump. I would look at the ECS fuel kit. We have had excellent luck with their kit.

Appreciate the info, question is I am running 58-60 PSI 0n my fuel rails with NO return. Is that an issue ? Do not have any fuel leaks, have installed the kenny bell boost-a-pump.

What happens if I upgrade to the A1000 won't a return feed be required or will the aermotive fuel pump controller handle any issues ?
