will our stock engines be able to handle a 100 wet shot?..

I have an A4, 99 with 74k miles on it.

Also i was told that zex is the best system to get currently.. any kind of info on that would be greatly apprecated.

100 shot would not be an issue at all. i would go with a plate kit from nitro dave with all the goodies (heater, window switch, FPSS, gauge). another sudgestion would be to drop a colder plug in and run some good gas to avoid any detonation. good luck and go have some fun. btw you might want to set some money aside for some new rear meats.

I would hope you would be OK. I am currently having a 100 wet shot NX kit installed with remote opener and timing tuner. Then again, we could end up like this guy.

I would hope that you would buy from a sight sponsor, Nitro dave is not, and I have nothing against Dave, but some companys are supporting this site with $$. This keeps this great site going.

100 shot, no problemo. Many, many do this size shot with no issues. I would rec the NX MAF kit. This is really a trick clean kit. Or going dry shot is always a consideration. Check my personal web site out for insight, and check the links section for the Colonels Tech files, it is some good n2o reading. If you have any tech questions on your way to choosing a kit, just pm me if you like.

i loved the maf kit i had on my WS6. however, the new kit for the vettes requires you to hack up your maf which i would hate to do if you decide to take the kit off your car. second, with the integrated noids it would be a pain in the *** to check them and replace them.

The 2 piece MAF kit is still available for certain applications. Yep, cutting maf requires kit to go with car, or get another. Still the cleanest nitrous kit going.

For a 100 shot on a basically stock car I'd go with a dry kit (and I did).....

I run the NOS 5177 kit on both my LS1 cars.

I put on a dry and wet system.

The Dry ended up lean, and had I gone with Roberts Pro Dry Kit, it would probably be a done deal as he has done his research and speced the kit with the 90° nozzles (good for vararam and blackwing). I am swapping the nozzles (I was using 45°) and hope to have my dry kit lean issue solved this Saturday. That being said we played with the Wet Kit (Nitro Daves plate) after we stopped with the dry being lean. It worked right out of the box, and he pilled it so it was very rich (safe) we went with 2 sizes smaller on the fuel to get it to a 11.5 AFR. Down side to the wet system is a chance the fuel noid swelling up and sticking because of all the new additives being put in the fuel.

I like the look of the Plate system over a nozzle in the air bridge.

I did switch to colder plugs
We tested everything while monitoring AFR
We used a window switch 3000 RPM and above
We monitored KR and used a Predator to reduce timing.

When My dry side get fixed with the new nozzles, I plan on a 100 Dry with a 50-70 shot Wet for a total 150-170, right now I am shooting a 175 combined (50/125), on a stock 99 vert. Sorry no times yet, put the system on in May and have not had a chance to go to the track.

If I was in the market for a dry system I would consider the Pro Dry Kit, as for wet I like the plate kits.

I think TNT and NX are the best systems out there. The ZEX sounnds really good but I havent seen any posts from any members.

Can a 100 shot damage the engine?
Yes, nitrous is a wild card period. My engine exploded and cracked the hood in 2 places on a 100 wet shot with all the safety measures in place. The factory engine had 14,000 miles on it when the timing chain snapped. Just plan on something going wrong and save some money in case something unplanned does occur, you are prepared replace it.

I like Nitrous and continue to use a 100 shot on my brand new motor. So far no problems.

good luck and enjoy it if you decide to do it. Its a big rush !
