Default 1st Practice pass with the new setup

Big public to Dr. Phil. At the risk of pumping his head up any more , I have to say that this car is the ****!!!!!!

As most of you know, I recently switched setups for my Z (engine, turbo setup, A4, etc.) I finally got to the track (local pos track - no track prep, old surfaces, etc.). The locals will know Lapeer . But hey its available. Why travel 2 hours for 1 and done. As expected, it was 1 and done (no cage, yet!)...well kinda. Got to the track about 1:00 and right off the road (i.e. Nitto DRs at everyday psi, tool kit in the trunk, gym clothes, full tank, laptop, etc.), bust out a 11.0@140.7. I was given my warning and proceeded to run 1/8 mile runs all day. My best 1/8 mph was 115.1. The boost spikes to 12 (gain on 100 ) and then settles in at just above 10.5. I know everyone says this, but the car is still on a "break-in" street tune (a/f is in the 10's, shift points still pretty low vs. potential, moderate boost for compression). I cant F'in wait to get to a track rental day and run the car on the ET Streets and start getting a bit more agressive with the boost.
For all you guys that are wonderin' about the dyno numbers...don't know, but you can do the math: 140mph @ about 3,600lbs.

Phil, I must admit you know your ****.

That's flying. Congrats. Hopefully I'll be in the same zip code with my new combo, albeit at higher boost.

I would comment about you post, but your statements and happiness say everything in themselves.

I will acknowledge one thing...the actual e.t. blows. If you know Lapeer, it somewhat explains it. I originally intended on taking the ET Streets, but I ran into a time crunch and couldn't take them along. I WILL definitely have them with me for the Norwalk track rental. Today's session was purely practice and to see how the car behaved at real speed. I also wanted to datalog a few runs. Its next to impossible on the street..well impossible without risking healthy jail time : ). I am all but certain that I will reach my track time goals.

When is the Norwalk track event? I might have to stop out since I'm about 2 hours away from there.

BTW, congrats on the new setup and killer trap speed.

Don't be sad about the slow 60ft time, at least your rear end is still in one piece
