Default Overheating

I have a C5 with a twin intercooler procharger P-1SC headers, 160 degree thermostat and a Tiger Shark front clip. I installed them all at the same time during winter so makes it hard to identify exactly which component is teh culprit
During winter months the coolant temp is fine (190-210) but as teh ambient increases in summer (85-95) the coolant temp runs at 230 without a/c and 250 with a/c. makes no difference whether in town or on the highway.
I note that many of you have suggested that the air gap between the intercooler and a/c condenser and radiator is critical. That makes sense however my intercoolers are mounted remotely in the corners behind the turn indiactors so that can be eliminated.
With the blower and associated plumbing I had to remove teh original plastic cowling that scoops the air and forces it through the radiator.
i beleive the problem is simply that teh radiator is not getting the air it needs.
has anybody had similar probs? Woudl appreciate feedback....

Andy

I run a twin turbo setup so i can only tell you that when my car was stock my temps were the same as yours. It drove me crazy and even had the dealership check my cooling system out. Everything was fine. When i had the turbo install i had them put in a Ron Davis radiator. Yesterday in town driving thru traffic the temp in Vegas hit 116 degrees. My coolant temps never went past 220. Stayed mostly around 212-218. And on the freeway in this heat it seldom goes over 200 degrees. Last summer running stock seemed a daily issue that it would always be between 230 -250

PureFun thanks...do you still run the original cowling in front of the radiator and what is teh primary difference betwen the Ron Davis radiator and stock...thicker? is t=it the same dimension ie does it fit straight in to the standard mounts

You may have already done this, but it's worth a mention.

Temps an my Vortech FI Z06 were creeping up a bit, so I pulled the top cover and found a thin mat of leaves, etc. in between the condenser and radiator . I pressure washed between the two and my temps have been lower since then. Probably came down 8 to 10 degrees average around town. I plan to do this cleaning on a regular basis.

Here is the link to Ron Davis. http://www.rondavisradiators.com/Radiators.htm
Definitely is thicker and supposely it is a direct fit, also have the original cowling...I didn't do the install. Extreme Motorsports did when i went under the knife with twin turbos... Dewitts also makes a great radiator and is much cheaper. Hope this helps.....Dell
