Serp belt issues
Hi ...I've got belt issues. I have a 99 auto with a Vortech unit recently installed ..ran strong and hard for 2 months then the sepr belt shredded. Put on another and it also shredded ..broke a pulley also this time ..pulleys seem to be lined up fine ..any recommendations on a stronger blet and or suggestions as to why this is happening all of a sudden? supercharger belt is fine....thanks for the help

Are you using the Vortech belt? It's stronger than an "ordinary" serpentine belt. Does your jackshaft pulley have guides on it? If it doesn't , call Vortech and get a pulley with guides. If you can get your hands on a laser alignment tool , check the alignment of the power-steering pulley.

If you purchased the kit recently , it should have the good belt and the guides on the jackshaft pulley. BTW the belt that fits the Vortech kit is the stock size belt for a '00 Mustang GT. The other thing you might want to check is the belt tensioner. Your tensioner might be worn out.
