Which would be the better one to go with.Might want to do F/I or TT in the future. Also heard there is something else new coming out in November,a 412 or something like that.
When I picked up the 408 it was because the alum. 402's weren't really proven yet. Since then, the 402's seem to be holding up pretty well.
If you know you'll be pushing it past 16#'s... not just wanting but knowing that 14 or 15 will not get you what you want, then go 408.... otherwise, a 402 will be plenty and noticeably lighter. BTW, unless your power-adder of choice is a rear-mount or centrifugal, the stock cubes can lay down more than enough power down low.
I took my brother for a ride through the canyons the other day and drove it hard enough to get the tail end on the verge of kicking out, coming out of the corners. At the end of the run I showed him my log and pointed to the highest value of my throttle position... it was 49%.
As for weight the car did not feel different with the 408ci iron block going from a alum 346ci as far as weight. It was suggested to me to just upgrade the sway bars and I wont notice a difference. Well I did what was suggested and with the extra horsepower the car feels lighter When I hit the corners with the stiffer sway bars the car handles just as great. Now this is just my observation. My old setup has seen Sebring many times. More times with the 408ci than my old stock 346ci. Of course the car went around the track a lot faster with 555rwhp than 330rwhp As for boost levels.... I think the LS2 block can hold up to over 15lbs of boost. Why do I think this? It has done it many times already. The only reason I am keeping my iron block for my future setup is because all I have to do to get rid of the extra 80 to 100lbs the iron block adds is add 1lb more of boost.
Crab - why not do an all bore? That's much better than a stroker for a turbo combo and there are tons of blocks on the market to choose from. Everything from s stock LS1/6 to a 388 C5-R (my dream motor).

Not everyone makes your money. Besides he can do any LSX motor and the TTiX kit will work well with it. If this is a street car all he has to do is decide on how much money he wants to spend and what his pump gas goals are.....
