Default Overheating Problems - A&A Vortech s -trim

I recently had this unit installed on my 99. The cars runs awesome except when I turn on the AC unit. The car runs about 180 degress without the AC unit on. Once the AC is on the temps immediately raise up to 230 plus degrees. At that point I turn the AC unit off as I do not want it to overheat. Has anyone experienced this sought of a problem and if you have what did you do to resolve it. I appreciate any assistance you can offer. Thanks in advance!

Simplest solution is to roll down the windows.

Which kit the new one where you do not lay over the radiator? Or the one like my DS1C, where I made some custom brackets to more the IC about 1" further away from the radiator/condensor. I also have a Dewitts radiator and when it get 100+ in Texas in stop and go traffic I see about 220 and that is ok and 190's while cruising with the AC on and when no AC 180's

Not a problem.... Call A&A. I'm sure they have an "Upgrade" avail.
Just make sure you get the latest version. They've had quite a few, so you dont want to spend 500 bucks on an old upgrade.

Be prepared to spend anywhere between 400-700 bucks for the "Upgrade"

Make sure your radiator is clean, I've had my A&A Vortech kit on all summer driving with the AC and I don't see anything above 210* after a hard run. I also have both my fans set at on 205 and off at 195.

Something also to look out for is the space between the IC and the radiator/core. Make sure you have as much as possible.

Make sure the intercooler is as far away as possible from the condenser. When you layed down the rad make sure they were at the furthest point back on the brackets. You'll know if the intercooler is up far enough if the elbow going into the intercooler is against the frame. Next make sure your fans are comming on and for sure get a 160 stat and set the turn on points sooner BUT you don't want the fans running all the time if the car is moving-that will slow down airflow. Dump the foglights and get the Z06 screens to move more air into the car.
