I just got a window switch (Mallory 646) but can't get it working. According to the threads I've read, the tach wire hook-up (green wire on window sw) should connect to the WHITE wire on the PCM. I soldered the wires together to make sure of a good contact. I get about 12 volt signal on the line at idle, about 16 volts at 2000 rpm.
I have the two orange wires from the window switch on the GROUND side of the No2 relay. One orange going to ground, the other going to relay for a ground when activated.
I set the window switch at 2700 L / 5700 H (8 cyl) like the (terrible) instructions tell you. Rev it up.. and nothing.
I tried disconnecting both orange wires and put an ohm meter across them. When I rev up the motor, no continuity. I think they should close.. shouldn't they?
Mallory tech isn't open on the weekends. I NEED HELP...PLEASE.

Update: Once again the forums are the place for info. According to tech sup at Mallory, the white wire is correct on the C5 for the tach hook up. I must have a bad unit... even though it was quoted to me that they "never go bad".
I'm hooking up my next one with a male/female plug so I can bypass it.
Just curious, has anyone had problems with them going bad and not working?
