Default Will it work?

I have decided to go ahead and put in the 412 in my car my question is I have also added a Textralia clutch to my setup but that is all. Will the Tranny be able to handle a 250 shot if I drive it properly with that potent of a clutch?

you'll be fine on street tires. on slicks, you will likely break after you go past 700 ft lbs of torq which will likely happen when you jug it.

drag radials would be a good compromise as they will spin and protect the drivetrain. a 250 shot is pretty big!!

Drag Radials are a BIG NO NO with power.

If you run them.. I guarantee you will break something.

Get a set of ET Streets and you will be better off.

Well to be honest those turbos were too much for my 346 so my option was either the motor or the turbos so I kept the motor. I sold the turbos on ebay and paid for the motor. I would hope that the 412 and the nitrous will give me the same power I know it will not be as nice or efficient but it will have to do. Im hoping the motor and the shot will get me near 800 WHP hopefully anyway. I have heard some good things from the TnT F2 kits well have to see what it Delivers. I plan to have the car as a street warrior so I might go to the track every now and then not all the time. So I have two words of advice one is ET streets and the other is drags

I'm sure this is because of wheel hop. but I'm wondering if this will happen with the hoosier 335/17/30 drag radials. they look more like a slick than a drag radial with only 2 grooves, kinda like the kumho 710s.

I think they will stick like crazy.. the M&H are a bias ply right?? so I would need biast skinnies for up front. thanks for the sound advice!!

250rwhp shot aussie clutch and 6500rpm clutch dumps, 17" ET Streets and no breakage. 135rwhp, Aussie clutch, 315 BFG DR and 5500rpm clutch dumps and one broken axle. Better 60'ers with the ET also. Dead hook and DR will equal breakage allmost every time.

I'm sure the flex in the sidewall sure helps too. the drag radials still have a pretty stiff sidewall which can initiate the hop and also transfer the shock to the drivetrain instead of "wrapping up"

kinda seems like a soft wrinkle wall slick would be even better. I've always been a bit chicken to drag race the vette with the IRS. A trip to the wall scares me a bit. so I have a dedicated drag car vette, but I don't seem to use it enough so it's up for sale to help pay off the z06

thx for the tips!!

The ET Streets are really the way to go.... A set of the 28" Hoosier slicks would be even better, but they rub the liners in the wheel wells a bit. If you don't mind that they are even better.

There are a lot of examples of broken parts on drag radials. I would not even consider it for the kind of power you are making. I use them on the street on my car, but am very careful about how and where I lay into it.

Thanks for the advice I will look in to the ET streets and the Hoosier slicks 28". I guess I could call the local performance shop or does anyone know who I can call to get a good deal on these? I will be driving the car on street tires during the winter but going to the track sounds like alot of fun I imagine the 60 fts are going to be really nice with slicks who would have ever thought the slicks were gona save the day once again thanks for the advice everyone

There is a thread going now about a cheaper option for wheels.

I have a CCW Drag Pack, including tires I think someone said they are up to $2600 now.

I tried the same thing you are doing, with the nitrous.
And every week I was having to have my car towed from the track.
You name it and I broke it.
So I changed over to a automatic, and problem solved.
My 60 ft times went from 1.80 to 1.50's
Something you might think about, Six speeds are fun to drive however they suck at the track
