Default 8-rib pulleys

I'm cheap, and doing most of my car on a budget. I now have the ECS 8 rib balancer, and an 8 rib 4" pulley for my head unit. So, i guess i need Alternator, Power steering, Tensioner, and a few idlers?

Where can i go about finding these pulleys? Or do i just need to order a tuner's kit?

I guess my biggest question, are these 8 rib pulleys Corvette specific? Or are there other applications i can pull them from?

Andy @ A&A will have the part numbers. I believe the pullies are made buy GoodYear or Denso.

Now, that's the kind of info I was looking for.

I know the GTP guys are lathing down their stock pulleys to incorporate an 8-rib belt. Has this ever been done with success? <i'm not really tempted to try it just curious>

The cost of the idler pullies and alternator / power steering pully will be cheap. It won't be worth the costs to customize or pay to lathe and machine parts.

I would see what info you can get from Andy, and if you need any part numbers, I will see what I can get a visual on without pulling my belt off.

Thank you very much. I'll call Andy today, i just got his intake this week but i'm going to wait till i do another pretty big install....Change my A/C condensor, and new Radiator braket. and upgrade to Andy's procharger bracket as well. So i was thinking if i could do it cheap enough an 8 rib upgrade shouldn't be too hard to do at the same time.

I have the keys to a machine shop here in Orlando...cost would be free for the machining...although, i'm really pretty sure I do not want to do that on a corvette

He already has the ECS 8rib crank pulley. He is looking for the other pulleys (except the head unit)

It's been going quite well for me so far. I've done all my own work, including my tune, with a wideband in the car. I know i have a slighty less than optimal set up, however for the $$ i have invested, i'm very pleased with my results and performance. My car is a daily driver and has been very reliable, and that was very important to me.

Pulley's are not expensive, I don't understand why i should have to pay a grand for the accessory pulleys, normally they're like 15 bucks each from a local parts store. Why are the 8 ribs so much more? Hopefully i'm able to find reasonably priced ones. I didn't get to call Andy yesterday, so i'll hit him up on Monday.

As stephen allready said, i've got an ECS 8 rib over-drive pulley installed, i'm just running a 6 rib belt on it. I am not having any belt issues currently, however when i upgrade to my A&A bracket, and 8-rib blower pulley, i figured, i might as well attempt to upgrade the rest of my system and run an 8-rib belt.

Chris
