Default Vendor Rating System

I would like to see a vendor rating system in place on the Corvette Forum. It would help Vette owners make decisions on who to buy from and more importantly who to bring their car to for performance upgrades. A rating system would encourage vendors to keep customer service a HIGH PRIOITY. Vendors with good customer service reviews would be rewarded with additional business, & vendors with poor customer service reviews would know that they need to improve or risk losing business. I would think that many supporting vendors would embrace this system as a way to establish themselves as Premium Vendors. I know there are many small to medium size vendors that would stand to gain much as they have built their business on HIGH STANDARDS. In addition there are some larger vendors with high recognition but now operate with LOWER STANDARDS. A rating system like this is used by many internet sites such as NEXTAG, Ebay,et..Customers could fill in a short survey with standardized ratings such as 1-5 or "stars"(1-4,5,?). I don't want this to be so complicated as to keeping it from becomming a reality because I feel there is a real need we as consumers have to getting what we pay for under the terms in which we make the purchase/install.

And YES I just recently had a bad experience with a CF Vendor but at this time I am working with them to correct their overcharging me & poor install quality. In addition their delivery on install was 1 month after time promised. So far they are mostly in denial, but I am "compromising much" in an effort just to get my car right.

I see that difficult because you have so many great people like ECS, A&A, Jegs, LG Motorsports, Karshop, boy I could go on and on.

You are right & obviously I need to bring my car to someone else such as one of those mentioned, 5-STAR vendors. My hope would be to keep other Vette owners from making the same mistake I made. Just an idea to try improve consumer awareness.

Scotty, in our neck of the woods the only ones to touch our Vettes is Gotjuice? and Corey at Henderson Performance. They are not your brand name like A&A or ECS, but they know there stuff. If you do not want to go to the Houston area shops look these two up and they provide a real personal touch to any mods nothing wrong with these two pros

This is a good idea! It should be done anonymously, since when there is a problem, most people don't want to rip on the shop that has their car, since this will delay the delivery even more. It will **** off the vendor who is at fault, thereby creating more potential problems for the customer. I know MANY people who have not posted negative thing about vendors, even when they have been treated VERY poorly!

There should also be at least 2 catagories, one for actual work done in their shop, the other for parts or kits sold. Being good at one does not necessary mean one is good at the other, and visa versa...

My 2 cents after 8 & 1/2 years of modding my C5...

Joel, these were my exact thoughts writing my post but I tried to keep it short & hoped there were others that felt the same as I do. I know the CF is a place to share information, but obviously some posts or responses can be very subjective & the result could be a "pissing contest" on a public forum. I feel an anonymous review of a vendor would yield the most positive results for all parties involved & consumers as a whole.

Steve, Point well made . These are good examples of other skilled Corvette technicians that do not have large national advertising budgets that enthusiasts like me didn't know about. Quality, and Integrity go a long way in my book.

Never going to happen. The vendors on the bottom of the list would complain and probably leave costing the owner money.

If anything we already have a rating system and that is this forum. Do a search for a particular vendor and you'll find plenty of feedback.
