Looking at the thread above, I see that ECS is cutting a hole in the back of the tank to mount the custom fabricated pickup. Does that mean that the ECS system only works on '99 and up cars (since the '97/98s have their pump/bucket mounted from the back of the tank)?

Actually all cars (that I know of) other than FFS cars have the fuel sender in the back of the tank. The ECS solution is completely plug and play and works for those cars very well.
The only tanks that require cutting (that I know of) are the FFS cars. Mine included. But I can assure you that their pickup works better than other alternatives like a bulkhead fitting and doesn't require you to drop the tank.

We actually changed the outlet to the other side for rockerpanel installations along with a #8 feed to the pump. I am going to use the remainder of the ones shown here for in house installs since I have not had any issues here, but I did not want to have a warm climate and cold climate system. So now they are all going to be changed. Mike has his in route to him as we speak so he can give some input shortly.
