I will have to revert to a different form of Wild Turkey this year for the holidays.....the 100 proof kind.

HHHHA I have had 2 jakes using my kids swingset for a roost. They showed up about a month ago and won't leave. I have tried everything to get rid of them, let the dogs after them, shot them with a paintball gun, chased them with the 4 wheeler, even fed them my wifes cooking. NO LUCK Still Here. Maybe its time to go on a short commando misson.
Operation "NO Tom".

anyway happy thanksgiving everyone.

Its 7:40am out right now, and I was Just handed my "Honey Do" list.

On a more serious note..
Lets not think of it as just a day where we eat turkey and have a day off. We should all be thankfull that we have been afforded the luxury to drive fast cars, and spend the equivelent of some peoples ENTIRE months paycheck on a fuel system whenever we see fit. I for one am thankfull God has allowed me these types of luxurys.

Yes, many of us here have been truly blessed with good a job that allow us to dabble in the real important things of life and that is pursuing one's dreams. It is also great to give back to society at this time of the year to the less fortunate.

Some commando advice on that if you live in town or within city limits.

A.) .22 w/bird shot to the head...or if you have a safe back drop a .22 short....isn't much louder then a cap gun...about the same as loudness as a paintball gun. I only shoot the neighbors cats with my paintball guns.

B.) A pump pellet gun...this is a riskier scenario. A couple years back I used a pellet gun on a big tom and he ran up the hill...all it did was poke out his eye...I clubbed him over the head with a nearby stick and had big turkey legs for dinner that night.

P.S. I tried using my dog last year...but she runs from cats (Lab). Which is a welcome change from my previous dog that I had to put to sleep for being hostile....I used him to chase pigs (Rott..178lbs).

And yes as another said today is a day to be thankful...unless of course you are Native American.

That hoist rated high enough for that bird?

Seriously... thats a great idea... you can lower the bird right in and not get splattered... and then crank it right out when its done... all the while never getting near that hot oil

Happy Thanksgiving.

P,
Great thread.
Everyone have a fantastic day. Enjoy.
Back to work for me, but only a half day today.
Going to spend some time with the family, play some good football and hit it up at the gym.
B

Very good Jeff, I am thankful everyday as well. The average person on this planet is looking for food for the table (if they even have a table) and has eight dollars in his wallet. Obviously, we offset that average significantly and are well above the median.

I am personally reflecting on this as I am sipping my coffee this morning from some place in Europe that I have to give some serious mental effort to as to even how to pronouce it's label.

If your getting your honey to do list at 7:40 a.m., that is a good thing.
