Lets hope.

I've got one on order ... and if it doesn't outperform the STS, EARL H will have some explaining to do.

He promised me some 9's with this Kit ...

He has them side by side in each of 4 thumbnails. Just click on each photo, and enlarge to full screen size ... and you can compare very easily the differences.

Look again at the dyno graph.

What DTE is saying is the graph line is increasing in linear fashion until about 3200 RPM ... when it starts to take on 'exponential' increase characteristics. That equilibrate to about 4-5 lbs of boost pressure.

I sure hope the larger turbos also go into exponential 'spool' mode at only 150-300 RPM higher than the Garretts. I want a true frontmount quickhit of power.

Your having had the STS there'll be more than a few interested in your thoughts on the differences between the two.

BTW, Don't recall your cubes but late spool isn't something you're gonna need to worry about with front-mounts on a C5. IMO, The harder you push it the more gradual you'll want it to kick in.

Anything can be made to go fast...so its entirely possible, look at Stealth's car (btw, I'd love it he could make the event).

Btw, still need a few more "confirmed" signups.

Cajundude also would be a real contender .... with his rearmount, big lopey arz cam, and probably some N20 onboard by now to combat that 'mythic' STS turbo lag.

CD is running a big cube motor with std STS turbos, so there shouldn't be any lag to speak of.

No ... I think mythic is the correct word. Seems Earl H doubts C.D.'s car has any T. lag

If STS lag were of epic proportions .... surely Earl would be aware of such.

Seriously ... my 350 STS has some mimimal lag. I think even C.D.'s higher cubed car perhaps has a small touch ... for which he has discussed adding some N20 ... although other reasons probably far outweigh this factor. Like getting some tire lift on launch.

Well, lets just say I'm not telling all that I know. Honesty, candor and disseminiation of info is sometimes construed as cheerleading. It leads to people being banned, posts against forum vendors being shut down. Big brother is a mf'er. Oh well, whats the saying about a fool and money?

You're right, it's only teasing in good fun. There isn't a setup anywhere that can't benefit from a tweak here and a tweak there.

It's always nice to get a view of the sky on race day.

relative comparison
f-body ...incon twin turbo kit...gt2871...vs gt3076 on a 346...about 1000rpm difference in full spool time.....the gt2871s were damn near instantaneous on the 346...slower with the gt3071 turbos. On a 408 the gt3076s are instantaneous. i took the small turbos to 736/756 rwhp/rwtq dynojet on a 346. The gt3076s went to 820/823 not QUITE maxed on the 346. 747/920 at same boost on 408. (this is all thru t-25 exhaust housings) The APS kit is better designed...better intercooler....better exhaust flow...it will make more power. YOu guys are in for a treat....too bad the f-body kit isnt slated until end of the summer
