Figured i would post here because this is where the experts hang out Went to the store today and when i started the vette tons and tons of white smoke came out the exhaust. I checked the oil and it was fine. No water and didn't smell burned. Oil and Coolant temps read fine. Purefun has been running fine except for a slight pinging under heavy load. Figured i would try Seafoam eventually. Anyways after about two three minutes the smoking wasn't as bad. After five minutes it was gone. The drive home is about ten miles and it ran fine with no problems. Crazy What would make it run like that? It has a TTi Stage 1 kit in it. But like i said it seems to run fine except lately my Engine Warning has been coming on. I've checked the codes and everything is fine there also. Just every other day the Engine warning light comes on.....
Engine coolant/anti-freeze being processed by the combustion chamber. Can you visually see your coolant level going lower and lower?
On a cold day you may see what appears to be white smoke from the exhaust that will disappear after the vehicles engine has warmed up to it's normal operating temp.
It could be buring oil through the turbo. Are both pumps on the turbo working properly? I am no expert on the TTi kits, but i think they come will oil return pumps
did it smoke before you put in the seafoam? seafoam will make it smoke like crazy for about five minutes. if it smokes a little bit all the time and especially after heavy acceleration it may be the turbos burning oil. i think it was just from the seafoam though

Car had been running for at least twenty minutes. Just ran into Hollywood video to pick up a movie. The car was smoking so badly i thought it was SURELY ON FIRE

Have no idea if the pumps are working properly. Way out to lunch when it comes to knowing if both turbos are working properly. I do know that it is not smoking now

Check with "Roadrebel"
He'll be able to better answer this question. I wonder if its a bad seal in one of the turbos..

hey Dell . I guess next time it happens you gotta take a picture.
Hope it's nothing serious. Had you been running hard into boost on the way to the store. Also, do you let your Turbos cool at idle for a few minute before shutting it off. This is very important when running turbos.

Nope just drove it normal And yes i always let it idle right after going into boost....

After sitting for a few hours i just started it up. Coolant level is still high just where it has always been. Engine sounds great. Just sounds like it normally does. And no smoke from the exhaust.

Uh, TTI does not use any pumps as they are noisy and unreliable

White smoke is usually coolant/water. How cold was out there? Cold enough to make steam in the exhaust?
Are you 100% sure it from the exhaust?
Engine warning light? The check engine light? flashing or on steady? If its on steady it has to store a code!
Phil
Any pinging on a stock bottom end is trouble waiting to happen btw.

It was in the low 60's today Phil. A friend that has followed me on a cruise had noticed blue smoke coming from the exhaust when i got on it from a light. I know it sounds weird but the engine warning light is staying on steady and it displays no codes when i check it. I had the pinging on and off when it was stock also. When Extreme did the turbo install they noticed a slight ping also but assured me that it was not due to detonation. When i used Torco the pinging would go away. So i contributed it to bad gas. This time with Torco the pinging is still there when i get on it. Under normal driving there is no pinging.
