Default Quick Ls6/ls1 Question

Can the LS6 handle more power on the stock bottom end than the LS1??? I read in a few posts today people saying that the LS6 bottom end can support 600rwhp with the alky kit and you should have no problems. I thought that 550rwhp was really the most you should try with our stock bottom ends or is that for the LS1 ??
LS1 = 550RWHP and LS6 = 600RWHP??? Or no ?

From what I have read here, a properly tuned 2000 and up LS1 can handle 600rwhp on stock bottom end. Ofcourse you need to add Alky and heads to lower the compression. There are several LS1/LS6 over the forum running 600+ rwhp on stock bottom

The reason that you see people saying 550 on an LS1 and 600 on an LS6 is that the LS6 cam is more boost friendly, coupled with better flowing heads and intake, so you can made a bit more power with them on that basis, the bottom ends are equally as strong, the LS6 has a bit higher compression though.

Add akly and you will be good to go, you will just strain the motor more trying to push 600 hp on the LS1 because of the aforementioned items.

My goal was to make 575rwhp on my stock bottom end (03 Z06) with ECS Novi 2000 kit. Is that possible or will I need longtubes as well ??? I know I will need a new clutch and tune obviously and the alky but are longtubes needed ?? I'm waiting for track season and my friend has an 03 cobra with a KB making 640+rwhp so I figure my z06 with 575rwhp shoould be enough to take him at the track. I hear the Novis are pretty mean

I am going with ECS blower cam and 317 heads along with Alky on a stock 2000 bottom end and will be running 12 psi of boost via Vortech S trim. Should be around 600rwhp

Nemesis is over 620 on stock 99 bottom end and ebo2z06 was over 645rwhp

Keep in mind guy's, it's the torque rating you should be more concerned about.

HP is just a measurement of speed from your gearing.

Torque's what's going to break your motor, and a few other items if your not careful.

Are you doing cam and heads? You will still be OK with ECS blower cam (thats what I got) and your stock Z06 heads and Paxton. You dont wanna go over 540rwt

You will be fine even with 575rwhp. Just get an Alky kit for your peace of mind.

One last question. Does anyone know how many pounds of boost I'll be running on the ECS Novi to make 575rwhp??
