Default Twins or Single???

I tried doing a search here but came up empty. Can someone explain to me the pros and cons of going twin turbos or a larger single turbo?

A single turbo is larger because its driven by the total displacement of the engine. Twin turbos are smaller cause each turbo in a twin setup is driven by only half the engine. A V-8 has two banks and each bank drives its own turbo so each turbo must be smaller because of the smaller amount of exhaust that is produced from just one bank. Either twin or single can make gobs of power and if fitted correctly to the displacement of the engine, neither setup will suffer turbo lag.

A twin setup may be easier to fit under the hood.

consider someone wanted to go the custom route and fab thier own setup and remote mount the turbo(s) in the rear, which would be better to go with 2 or 1?
