I'm running a I/C Mag on a stock LS6. I also have the dual nozzle ECS Alky kit. My question is how aggressive can you get with the timing. I've been told that I can get pretty close to using the stock timing table. Opinions???
The methanol will cool the charge and help prevent detonation, but I am not sure you will be able to run the same amount of timing as stock. I would start where you are an slowly increase the timing, until you start to see a little knock. Once you do, back the timing off a little. If you do have a scanner, I would stick with the tming you have. Knock, even a little, is very bad on S/C cars and will dramatically decrease the life of the motor.

Thanks in advance.

On the stock motor with alky you should be around 24 degrees with a 2.8 pulley making 12lbs of boost.

One step better is to see where you stop making power on the dyno and go with the least amount of timing necessary to make the most power. There is usually a window that makes roughly the same power, you want to be at the lowest timing of that window.
Personally I have not seen the need to exceed 21 with the meth on a stock bottom end, but see what works for you.
We have had a forged Maggie ZO6 that ran 10.02 @ 140+ that didnt exceed 21 degrees. (with spray)

That's good to know, the last time I hit the spray 150 shot my timing was 18 degrees. How much spray were you using? I run 24 degrees with the blower alone.
