Default Kenne Bell Boost-a-Pump

Hey guys!

I am currently undergoing a transformation with my Z06 (stay tuned…it will be worth the wait!). Should be about 600+rwhp at 6-7psi (Nuke, if you read this, keep your mouth shut for the time being, haha).

I am going to be upgrading my fuel injectors, but my 2003 Z06 does not allow for an easy change for the fuel pump. I am now deciding to get the Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump along with the Racetronix wiring harness.

First question - How hard/long of an install is this and do you have any pointers?

Secondly, there is a 20 and 40 amp version of the KB BAP. Which one would you recommend? I will be only be 600ish rwhp, but with my setup (and after building the bottom end) I have the capabilities for much more hp. Should I spring for the 40 amp version?

What lb injectors would ya'll recommend also?

Thank you in advance! I am trying to get my car finished asap and need to work out these issues (originally I was told I could max out my current fuel system with upgrading injectors and being 600rwhp but now I realize that is a bunch of BS and need the KB BAP and upgraded injectors at a minimum).

60# injectors and there is no need a 40 amp BAP with a single pump.

PM sent as well.

Hey SpdKilz is the website up yet? What kind of force induction setup are you going with? I'm adding a ATI P1sc kit with meth injection and cam and more.............. Goodluck on your fuel system upgrade.

On my 2000 the Racetronix wiring harness was Plug N Play for fuel pump and KB BAP. Easy installation. I ran the wires through the tube below the drivers door. You'll need to lift rear, remove driver side wheel, and remove wheel well cover. Then two connected metal clothes hangers are long enough to pull wires through to the engine bay. There are a few places the wire can get snagged, but with some patiences you'll eventually get it. Mount the BAP near the fuel pump connectors in the wheel well. Regarding the boost control ****, from what I've read on this forum most disgard the control and solder the wires together. Search the forum for more threads on this subject. Combination of Walbro 255 pump, wire harness and BAP, no drop of fuel pressure for me at WOT confirmed by dyno.

Thank you for the information! The only problem is my fuel pump is not easily accessible because of my 2003 model. As for now I would only be running the BAP. I will try to find a few more topics on the subject. Thanks again though!

Brandon - SpdKilz.com is still up and running but I have not updated it on my project as of yet. I want to wait until everything is said and done Stay tuned though...within the next month it should be done!

BlownZ06 - PMed you back.

Any more help/guidance would be appreciated! Thanks guys!

I'll keep quiet ... I hope your fuel system responds better than mine did. If you don't remember, I installed an LPE pump and it wasn't sufficient to support my 540 rwhp, and I had to install a BAP in addition to get good fuel pressure. Before anyone asks, yes, I replaced the fuel filter (extenal on an '02) when I did the LPE fuel pump

Oh yeah, I didn't do the Racetronix harness, so maybe the BAP will be enough. Good luck, and it sounds like it will be yet another monster Corvette roaming the streets.
