Default AEM Boost controller / tune questions

I am looking at the AEM boost controller that mounts like a regular gauge. It looks like a real clean install and is not that much more than a boost gauge alone. Does anyone have any experience with this product? When changing boost levels I assume you have to change the tune also. So when using a boost controller how do you deal with the different tune requirements for the various boost levels? I would probably only be going from 5-6 lbs at the low setting to maybe 8 or 9 lbs until I forge my engine.

I'm still running a MAF not an SD tune. I have two settings on my Blitz BC and can dial in alot more. You need to go out and buy EFI live or HP tuners so you can have a few different bin files for each boostsetting you want to run. You need to change a number of different parameters for each boost setting, you can tune under real load on the road and not on a dyno.

Are the changes for the different settings saved in a file so it is easy to move from one to the other or when you change boost do you have to retune all of the different paramaters. If it's too much work to go from one boost setting to another I'll just pick a setting and stick with it.

Jersey Jay, I should have read the post more clearly, you are correct, to have two different setting you can do it that way where you basically store two different tunes, I was thinking for a fully adjustable boost control sorry. I am doing the Blitz i-color and will have to do an SD tune to use it to it's full capability

The AEM is fully adjustable but with such a small difference between the low and high settings that I would be using on a stock engine I would probably just pick one or the other.

Save each bin file and then reflash your PCM for each different setting. You tune for each boost setting and then your done when you save them in the tuner software package right on your hard drive. You just do the work in the begining and then your done untill you forge your motor and turn the wick up more.

Or you can tune the car for high boost alone, and know that when running in low boost you're also running rich.

Very helpful info. For now I think I'll just install the 7 lb springs unless TTi thinks the 9 lb will work with the alky injection giving a little safety cushion. So many decisions.
