A nine year old boy name Andrew was practicing at Glen Helen. It was open practice, and he went out on his 65cc. Andrew fell and a 450cc ran over his head. He was air lifted to a near by hospital, and the doctors pronounced he was in a coma. Andrew has bleeding internally in his head, and is in critical condition. Please pray for him and his family (he's 9 years old) so the doctors are not sure of the outcome.
Pray
Even if you didn't know him, there's that connection that all motocross and supercross riders share, get better Andrew, we are praying for you.
That's terrible!! I have p[lenty of frineds and a brother who are serious into motocross!! I have seen first hand what can happen. From compund fractures of the Tib and Fib, blown out knees, two totally shattered heels at the same time, to a riend who is paralyzed for life!!
Andrew and hit family are in my prayers
Not that it matters at this point, but was he wearing a helmet?
That's a real heart break. We always put too much faith in our helmet, especially when your read stories like this. I sure hope he can recover, age is on his side and I hope God is as well.
IQ
Very sorry to hear this. I've raced flat track for years and HATE open practice. It's a flippin obstacle coarse between the novice guys and the rocket guys. Never sure if I'm the dog, or the fire hydrant.
