I am looking to swap a new pump in my car for the new setup. I was just gonna open up the factory cannister/bucket and replace the stock pump with a Walbro GSS340..Anyone do this already? It seems like the cheapest way to go..I don't see the point of buying a whole replacemnt cannnister and pump from a supplier when the swap seems so simple. What pumps have u guys used for this swap? Pls don't refer me to link to swap out the whole assemble to install another one..I wanna know what pump fits in our factory cannister..Thanks..
I am quite sure you can do it that way. I have made walbro pumps work in all kinds of cars I am sure the racetronix set up uses one of the walbro pumps, they just scratch off all the numbers so you don't know which one. I never cared enough to match it up, but i would guess it is a 340 or so. Take out your old one and match it up on the internet then order that pump.
Ractronix also comes with a lot of crap you don't need that makes it a little more. Runs off the alternator for the extra voltage to increase volume, or you could get your own wire
Exactly bro, the only thing that i was wondering is that the stock pump seems to have a little spout at the bottom of the pump on the pics i have seen. Does anyone have the Walbro GSS340 next to the stock pump? Someone must have don e this swap..
Are you talking where the filter connects it has a spout? If everything else is the same except for the spout, and nothing connects to it, forget about it

Dom
Dom, your info is VERY dated and inaccurate.
Racetronix uses Walbro/LPE GRJ420 pumps. The have ALWAYS been Walbro GRJ42x series pumps. We include a new bucket, flex-hose, filter screen, filter sock and upgraded in-tank wiring which should be replaced esp. in a car that is 10 years old.
The harness is proven to improve pump performance by apx 15% and also allows you to add a booster without cutting into your factory harness and overloading it.
The kit also comes with a drainage kit which allows you to power up the pump without the car on to help aid in draining your tank.
The complete system MSRP is $349.99. It is available through many dealers on this forum.

You can not use a standard Walbro 34x series pump. That part on the bottom is a jet pump which creates a siphon which in turn keeps the bucket full of fuel no matter how low the tank is. it is a VERY important part of how the fuel system was designed to function.
Does the GSS340 not have the little spout at the bottom of the pump?
Does that spout draw fuel through it? I don't need all the xtra stuff. I am only looking at the pump. It is not a hard job at all to swap a pump. I hot wired my own pump and made a difference of a few PSI just by using a thicker power wire to the pump..
How much do u sell the pump only for? The GRJ 420 that is?

The GSS34x series pumps do not have the jet pump on the bottom as shown in the link above. Walbro/LPE does not distribute the GRJ420 pump without the bucket assembly. It is wise to replace the bucket as they are very hard to get appart and due to the age of them they are very brittle and crack easily. The bucket assembly comes with new seals, filters etc. which should all be replaced anyhow.
Since you are a supporting vendor with no email, PM or telephone contact, would you mind helping me out with installation instructions for the product I have purchased (1997-2002 C5 Corvette High Performance Fuel Pump System)? No instructions were included, and I could not find them on your website. I know that there are some third party instructions out there, but I want to make sure I follow your directions to the letter.

If you are not going to use the proper pump you must remove the orange checkvalve & retaining ring at the bottom of the bucket. You should not run the tank below 1/8. Do not race the car below 1/2 tank since there will be no bucket reserve or tank baffling.
