I don't think any Maggie car is going to run anywhere near 135 MPH in the mountains.

As for the motor - I think (just based on years of forum viewing) the stock bore motors seem to last the longest and have the fewer incidence of oil consumption.

Positive displacement blower definitely need not apply here

Turbo is king when altitude comes into play.

A maggie won't cut it on a 402 at 4500 feet. If your going S/C try the F1R Procharger. Use a 3.70"-3.85" pulley....you'll make huge power down low and won't have to use the last 500-700 rpm of the motor. Set it up to make 8-9 lbs boost by 4500-5000rpm. Shifting under 6000rpm will increase the life of the motor. If you do an occasional rip to redline....the top end power will amaze you. The larger F1R makes power much sooner than smaller P1 or D1.

I'd keep it under 18 lbs. Longevity is relative.

Depends on how much lead is in your foot. If it's a lot, your longevity will definitely be reduced regardless of the type of FI. If you romp on it only occasionally you can run a lot of boost and have a long lived engine.

A turbo setup with an absolute pressure boost controller would be best as it will adjust to the altitude just in case you popped in to Los Angeles for the weekend.

And there is something to be said for the F1R moving A LOT of air. If you ran a BOV/boost controller, 2/3 bar tune with the F1R you could tune for altitude and run at sea level without overboost issues.
