After a week of waiting for someone to key my damper I am still at a loss.... I went to 3 different machine shops to have a keyway cut into my stock damper. The last place I went was a shop that had an EDM machine. This EDM machine works off electricity and the machinist could not get the damper to conduct electricity. He bead-blasted the inside of the damper where it meets the crank and still no luck. I asked him if he could broach it out and he said he could but if it was cast it would not work. Does anyone know what the inside of the damper is, where it meets the crank? Any help would be great!
Probably not, since it will be keyed. Otherwise the interference fit might be upset a hair, but unless he bead blasted it with diamonds I doubt it took off much material
