What are you guys running for a differential? Is it holding up OK? IF you broke one, with what tires, tranny, and RWHP did it take?
I would like to use the DTE differentials as a standard reference.
Stage 3 (Hardened both axles, HD clutch pack)
Stage 4( Same as above but with pinion support)
Stage 5 (Best of everthing that you can put in it, including billet axle cover)
I got the stage V, because I got a deal on it from another CF member that ran out of money.
Personally, I would hold out for the new DTE Cast differential and go with the upgrades that make sense. Most differential failures are the output shafts and or broken differential cases. Not too many guys with chewed up gears, clutches, etc..
It may be a while before the cast iron differential is on the market. I need to do a tranny swap here soon, and I would like to change out the differential while I have it out.
Has anyone on here broken the side cover? I see DTE sells a billet side cover option for the Stage 4, or it comes standard with the Stage 5.

Differential swap out is probably only a couple of hour job and does not require dropping the entire drive train.
If you are going to make some big power, I would hold off, I wish I did.
I have seen a couple pics of broken side covers on the forum, but mostly cracked cases and broken output shafts.
Big power! I have a Maggie with stock pistons.
Of course, who knows what the future may hold.
Based on your set-up, I would save my cash. The longer you wait the better chance that a newer and better product will come to market. Also prices will probably begin to slow as more C-6's hit the market and C5 parts become more plentiful.
NO DISRESPECT...DRIVELINE IS JUNK ON c5 VETTES..broke everything once somes twice...roll the dice. but i'm no quiter...coffee & food no problem ...9's & 10 's everyday ..you got problem
Auto's are easier on driveline due to fluid dampening effect.
I was thinking it was more of the shock a manual/clutch puts on the driveline from a launch and shifting. Unless you launch an A4 like this one kid on here that put his A4 in N, revved it up to 3000 rpm and dropped it in drive.
He only did that once.

Obviously he wasn't to experienced. That's why you get a high stall converter.
