engine overheat road racing! help!


try 2nd gear (6 speed) over 5k on cruise control and just hold it there until temps go thru the roof or for 5 minutes or so on a very hot day.
If your system survives that and temps are normal, then it's working pretty well.
At those road speeds, you don't get a whole lot of air flow thru anything, but you get enough to know that you will be able to survive a road course.
My car went from 230+ coolant/270+ oil when I backed off and with oem setup of FMIC and no oil cooler, to 200/220 in 95 degree heat.
Also, you are going slow enough that you can easily monitor or log temps

Oh..and all my heat exchangers are over 3" thick, no fans and no stacking. Air may be free, but you still need to use it wisely.
