Default C5 vs C6

Hi everyone,
I was just wondering, aside from the price would there be much benifit from doing a c5 vs c6. I would TT either set up down the road. So is there a better performance gain in the c6.

Thanks Randy

Well, because the ls2 is 17 cubes larger, with all other mods being equal, you should see a gain of 17-25hp/tq at all rpms thru the power band.
Airflow = power.
You probably won't notice it seat-of-the-pants, but it may show up from a roll.

I personally prefer the c5, but only because I like the body design better.
Purely subjective, since owners of the c6 chassis will most likely prefer their body style.

I agree, I would do the LS2 and if you are going to do the TT down the road with bottom end upgrades. U can't beat CI.

All depends on the goal. 500rwhp and you could keep things stock and a C6 makes sense. Go overboard w/ 800rwhp and a used C5 would get you a new 400 cu forged motor w/ TT for less. Get serious and you'll end up replacing stock on the tranny/rear anyways. At that point it's all looks and the C5 comes out on top.

Now it's a different story when you start talking about a C6 Z06

Aren't LS2 swaps in a C5 pretty much straight forward as well?

Yes they are.

Whatever vette you're going with is going to require you to put in a forged LS2, one is just going to cost more because it's newer as a car.

If money isn't an issue, get the C6. Stock motor to stock motor they are going to be close because the LS2 can't take as much boost as the LS1 due to a much higher CR.

Between any C5 and the regular C6, I'd do the C5. But a new C6 Z06 would be a car that I just couldn't resist.
