Purge button Gremlin
I have been working out my nitrous install and have about everything dialed. There is Gremlin however that just popped up and until this point had not seemed to be an issue.
When I have my car off I arm the systems and will push the purge button (no nitrous in tank) and I can hear the solenoid click. I think.... cool all set. Well I happened to have the car on last night while programming the Dave's Nitrous window and TPS box and hit the purge button. Car started to sputter and basically would have died if I held the button any longer.
Why this is so weird is there are only really three wires for the purge as many of you know if you have done an install. There is one wire from the purge solenoid that goes to ground, one that goes to the purge button and the 3rd is a line from the purge button to the N20 side of the ARM button. I have checked all of these and they are wired well and seemed to be in tact. The only thing I can think that it might be is that the ground I am using is not good. SO... the ground I am currently using is basically running the ground line right to one of the bolts on the coil pack mounting bracket. Have seen others mention this is as good as any. Anybody have any ideas about where my Gremlin is hiding??
