Default Need help with P1SC!!

My Z came with the current Procharger setup:

[IMG][/IMG]

It looks like the older version with the dual intercoolers. The guy I bought the car from, had ordered the hoses, shroud, radiator brackets and filter from Andy @ A&A to change the setup to new style. So I bought the kit from him. Now I am not exactly sure what to do. From what I can tell, I am staying with the dual ic, but moving the air intake from the P1SC over the radiator(?). I can't tell exactly what is in front of the sc intake right now - no room to look and don't want to disasseble yet. Are there any installation threads with pics (search didn't show any)? Can anyone explain what I should be doing here or if I should be doing this at all? I have spent all weekend looking for a clue as to what to do. Any input would be appreciated.

I did a change from one system to another years ago. What you are doing is removing the PROCHARGER shroud/air intake and re-installing the stock fans behind the radiator. Do yourself a big favor and buy the single intercooler... in which case... You also remove the twin intercoolers and install a large single in front of the radiator. The radiator itself is lowered and the air intake now goes over the top of the radiator top shroud. Its lots of work but is worth it in the end as well as the better results all the way around you will have.

You can use the stuff you bought and you will need the rest of the kit so you do the complete change over. Contact Andy @ A&A and he will hook you up with what you need.

Feel free to click on my sig and look at the pic at the bottom on the right side. This was the first A&A mod w/twin Intercoolers.

Thanks for the replies. The pics explain alot. Was it a big deal dropping the radiator with the ic plumbiing? I think this is the set up I need for now to get me back to stock fan system. Thanks for the help.

I believe that the new P1SC-II kit also comes with the dual intercooler setup. What have they changed from the earlier units other than the brackets?

Intercoolers and tubing are bigger. Cradle replacement for lowering radiator.

No problem dude,...it's easy, as long as you have the tools, or the shop to do it at.

All you do, is remove your radiator, doesn't even have to be all the way outt the car but, it would be easier to remove the fans and radiator.

Then, what you do, is cut the supports, that hold the base of the radiator. You also cut the cross bar, that is mounted to the radiator brackets.

Then, you take that whole assembly, as one unit, and move it forward, 6 inches. Then you either make a bracket to fasten it, or you weld it, like how I did. I am now able to fit all my piping over the shorud area. It fits great, and i'm sure it makes power. YOU WILL HAVE TO MODIFY YOU hose. Which, what I did was have the pipe coming off the water pump, kinda angle down, the come up from the bottom, actually onto the radiator.

If you'd like, email me at jwells@veracadillac.com and i'll shoot you some pictures bro.

Peace out.

J

I am starting to see now. I have some brackets that I think are for the radiator move. So all I really need to is some cutting and moving. I am assuming the hoses that I got from A&A will fit after the move? I may have to call the Andy dude again. Thanks for your help and I may be back in touch.

I highly reccommend you call "the Andy dude" again.

You might ask him if they have any blower brackets while you are at it.

haven't been on CF in a few weeks, don't know if you figured it out or not but you don't have to cut your radiator brackets at all, you simply have to cut one of the intercooler pipes. I can get you andy's number if you want it just email me, he will tell you exactly how to do it, but I am positive you do not have to cut the radiator bracket.
