Default No filter for Alky kit?

Hi,
I am in the process installing Alky kit and I don't see any filter going from the washer tank to the pump ...
That is not safe for me because my tank is painted tank and sometime, paint got chipped around the cap when I open it up, etc ... and if we accidently got something in the tank, we may clog the line
I'll do more research and try to add a filter at 1 end of the hose.

-Mike

There is normally a screen type filter attached (screwed onto) the actual jet. Maybe it fell off??

Don't recall if there was one in line from tank to pump...would tke some serious paint to clog the line

EDIT: Ok ...I went and looked...I have nothing in the line from tank to pump, but that's a BIG line. There is a check valve in the smaller line as I said a screen filter at jet

My kit is 3 years old, so i don't know if they added an inlet filter since

sorry....

No way unless you are sending mucho nickel sized chunks, which in any case will end up as small crap on the jet filter..

My advice? Don't chip the paint...

Which kit?
If it is from us there is a filter in the line, made of brass. Also the nozzles have screens also.

Hi Doug, it is ECS kit and I was hoping to have some filter at the begining before entering the pump
I did found a check valve which have some kind of filter there ... but I will be adding 1 filter like the one in Toyata washer tank at the begining of the line.
Thanks,
-Mike

GM makes a screen that just drops in the opening of the washer tank. They are around $10. I will look up the part number for you. They fit perfectly with the Vette tank.

i got my kit yesterday... with a nice strainer that goes in the filler of the tank, one mid-line going to the nozzle and one at the nozzle. VERY nice kit... a few things in the instructions are a lil odd however..
